Mimicking James Lake’s cardboard sculptures and wanting to explore using paper as a sculpting medium, I cut strips of cardstock and began forming a nest-like structure for the basic shapes of my bird. I found that the glue gun worked best because of its strength and instant grab. The next layer of feathers will be glued on top. I did a test of the feathers and was happy with the effect. I plan on painting both sides of the feathers before attaching them.
