Not satisfied with the first painting of Nibbles, I took a second attempt, this time looking to eliminate the thick illustration lines and let the colors touch. I began the repaint with light sanding to remove paint ridges. Brushing on darker shades and then blending in white to get the tone I liked. I’m especially proud of the shading under that arm and the yellow/orange blends on the balloon. I think this second painting is stronger and allows Nibble’s personality to shine thru. He’s on my wall reminding me to trust where the muse’s intuition is leading me.
