Testing out another of Jonni’s recipes, which uses Portland cement. The result was even better than the Silky SMooth Paper Clay, and the finish was rock hard. I could sand, cut, and smooth the finished result, and the shell was strong like stone. I must seal this before painting, but I may have found my medium of choice for larger sculptures. Find the recipe I used at Ultimate Paper Mache – she used this clay for an outdoor sculpture. I like how affordable this clay is vs. epoxy, there is no cracking or shrinking and it spreads on the armature like frosting a cake.
